Police will soon issue tenders for installing the system at Aurobindo Marg, India Gate, Nelson Mandela Marg and Connaught Place. "Earlier, we had technical difficulties and little expertise. If this project is successful, we will install it in other areas," joint commissioner of police, traffic, Anil Shukla, said.
India’s First Traffic Management Center
Gurgaon, Haryana, India Delta, a pioneer in providing innovative video wall solutions, partnered with Pan Intellecom Ltd. to install its 24/7 seamless Video Wall at the Bangalore Traffic Management Center at Traffic Police Head Quarters to monitor city traffic. The 83’ x 11’ Delta Video wall will help Bangalore traffic police to manage and respond to traffic woes promptly and investigate incidents causing accidents and damages incurred.
WiTraC, India's first wireless traffic controller system launched
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has developed 'WiTraC,' India's first wireless road traffic controller technology that runs on solar power. The system will help monitor and regulate traffic conditions. 'WiTraC' has been designed for pole mounting and does not require digging of roads. The installations run on solar panels that give 72 hours of power backup and is very efficient. The cost of development of the system is approx Rs.14.75 crore and has been handed over to private players for production by Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal.
